Was given permission to hunt two old home sites. First and newest yielded only a 1925 wheat. Soils here in North Alabama really eat away at coins, so was hard to read. Gave to land owner because it was probably his grandfather that lost it. He was grateful and offered the other site to hunt. Always works to be generous.

At the new site I found four Barclay toy lead soldiers. Most exciting. Not much value but I was ecstatic! About a hour in to the site I found my first Indian Head penny. 1903. One luxury tax token, very nice shape. Three buttons, one from overalls with star and manufacture on it. One old pocket knife in rough shape. Not enough time in the day to hunt and Saturdays are slow to come. barclay soldiers.webp
