Camera has been out of service, just got a new one AND a new scanner... Lots of buttons will be poster soon! ;D

Here are some of my recent coinage finds.
1st 2 pics is 1869 2 cent
3nd is 1859 indian head in rough shape. Was actually in pretty decent shape until I took a soft toothbrush and water to it, then it just fell apart.
4rd pic is 1889 indian head that some fertilizer got to.
5th pic is an antique silver heart pendant, a little over the size of an eraser head.
Last 2 pics are of the 1723 reale I found today.

Great digs!! HH

try cleaning them with baby oil or olive oil instead of water.
i did some experimenting and my guess is,if the coins come from a farm field or a yard the water and fertilizer react and pit the coins.
I cleaned 2 coins from the same field 1 with water, and it did the same thin as yours did and 1 with baby oil.It was a little harder to clean this way,but when i got the dirt off the coin still looked really nice.
Great finds and good lok on more!!!!
