Hey everyone,

I have been lurking these boards for a few years now and I guess I may as well add one post.

I have been collecting items that deal with slavery & civil war for many years now and my collection is housed at the Avery Research Center for Black Culture in Charleston S.C.

My collection is a few hundred items consisting of relics, manuscripts, newspapers, period photos , etc.

My pride and joy of the collection, well that would have to be the numerous slave tags and period photos of slaves. An unfortunate time in our history but yet probably the most important.
Now Im buying a new metal detector and am going to dive all the way in.
This board and you guys have really been inspiring and make me want to do this not only as a hobby but as a lifestyle.
Thanx for the inspiration people.
Here is a link to the museum website.
