Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
I went out today to two houses that i know are going to be torn down. They are both in the path of shelbyvilles new bypass. In the first one i found ( without a detector ) under some raggedy old carpet and around the fireplaces several wheaties,1910, 1914, 1934 and 1938, all d mints. Also found several old jefferson nickels and 2 buffalos, 1934 and 1935. The house gave me the creeps so i decided to head to the second house. At this house i went in and looks like someone else had been there way earlier. All the floor boards on the bottom floor was gone, fireplaces busted up and all the walls busted open. did find two old buttons with eagles on them and several wheaties. Then i went upstairs in this house. I was almost scared becuse most of the floor was so weak. So i said check the basement and im glad i did. I found 30 of the 32 ounce coke bottles and decided to take them and call it a day. By the way i had permission to hunt both properties and may go back next weekend. have a good day and keep on digging...

The coins are a nice find but I bet there is much more!

Allen,

sounds like you had a bit of an adventure.

Glad that you had permission to hunt those locations.

Like others said, some photos would be nice. I always carry
my camera, never know when it will come into play. A place
like your hunting, I would even be taking photos of all the rooms.

Sounds interesting. Your getting good coins, I would be checking
every nook I could find, never know what you will come up with.

Good hunting on the place, be careful.

have a good un...........

Did you say a 1914-D wheat?
If you did, that is a very good date.

for those who said pictures would be nice, i had actually just bought a digital camera last year when my home burned down. so we are just now getting back on our feet, but soon i will get another camera and start taking pics. be patient, lol. have a good day everyone and happy hunting
