Coins Reseller Spain during the seventeenth century are a clear example of the economic debacle of the Habsburg Empire.

The Royal Decree of 18 September 1603 the first of these grounds reseller. On June 3 of 1602, Felipe III decreed the elimination of 0'3% of silver in the new pieces of fleece as well as reducing the weight of the copper coins in half, as they already circulating with an ancient coin same face value but with the new double their weight, because this is the need for resealing the pieces you see in the section of this tutorial. When a currency is redeemed by a new old mints in the depositor was given a small compensation for the inconvenience and the rest entered the State Treasury in respect of the Lordship, so that economic motivation was obvious.

It was the Royal Decree of March 11 of 1636 which resulted in the resell of the same year. Philip IV was forced to order such action by the beginning of the war against France the previous year and that was difficult to sustain the hard hit pockets of the Habsburg Empire.

The defeats against France and the revolts in Catalonia and Portugal forced Felipe IV to re-take steps to alleviate the sad financial situation of the Empire. Thus, the February 11 and October 22 1641 two decrees ordered the reseller where they were called to solve the problem, or at least mitigate it. Resell the work of this ended with the decree of September 15 1642.

It was also the war, in this case to keep the Empire in Catalonia, which resulted in the Pragmatics of November 11th 1651 for resealing copper (except copper), restoring the original face value. Resealing is until the decree of June 25 1652.

The resealing was loose again from the Royal Decree of 21 October 1654, restoring the value that gave them the Reseller 1603, ie twice their original value. Only pieces whose owners took resealing could move, but only returned half of what it delivered.

Great relics!
