My XP Deus is on the fritz again. It was really pretty out yesterday with the forecast of rain the next 8 days. So I HAD to get out and swing. My only option was to knock the dust off my trusty old Minelab X-Terra 30. No programs to change, no ground balancing, no bells and whistles. I set it to wide open and off I went. I was able to find a 1942 mercury dime, a 1945 P war nickel (YES TOM, I'm counting it) a no date buffalo nickel, 12 wheat pennies dating from the 30s to the 50s, and what's left of a very small toy car. I was hunting a lot that used to have a house on it. The owner said he believed the house was built in the late 20s and torn down about 4 years ago. Tough hunting with the tall grass and having to be on the lookout for snakes (hate em) yellow jacket nests (despise them) and ticks (loathe them) but there were a few areas that could be hunted. All in all not a bad day especially with a back-up machine. Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Anyone have any ideas about the little car? It is just under 2" long and approximately 3/4" wide.

Well ya did just fine without the deus!

Yet another war nickel found by another tnetter
great saves!

The little car is a Midgetoy. Made in Illinois. Competitor to TootsieToy. Circa 1950s. I have the same one, except yellow. Nice find, much rarer than a TootsieToy.

Congrats on your first war nickel. I know that you have been looking for one for a long time now.

Has that Old Dude found a war nickel yet? This is the first one I've found but would be happy to send it to him if it would make him feel better.

Hey, OD doesn't need charity, lol. I will find my own tyvm!

Nice group of finds Jay. Glad to see the old trusty Minelab still knows how to find the goodies. Good luck with the deus, Got my eye on getting one soon.

Cool finds! What's wrong with your Deus?

Beez I got a Bootcamp newsletter that said coins don't count if they are not found with a Deus. And if you use a minelab they only count ⅛. Better get that machine to the repair shop.

Gotta love that minelab...:occasion14:

I feel bad, so this morning I took the 1952 Rosie and put it back where I found it.

Nice digs . Thanks for sharing the hunt and the pictures

Condolences on the passing of the Deus, looks like that Xterra packs some punch, it did well ! :occasion14:

2 weeks ago the screen just started scrolling through the programs all on it's own. I turned it off and back on and it locked up in the program edit page. They said it was the coil and sent me a new one. That worked for about 5 hours then it started all over doing the same things. Hope this is an isolated incident and once fixed the machine will be reliable. Haven't had it a year yet and this is my second problem.

I'd say if you can do that with your 305 I'd use it more often. :tongue3:

Nice finds! Good thing your Minelab doesn't hold a grudge!

Hope your Deus gets back to you soon all fixed.

Beez my Pro-Pointer finally died today, glad it did was really annoying how the power button was so messed up. Went to using my older backup its working way better than the newer one did and will have to shop for a replacement tomorrow.
