I have my EQ800 and now I finished my C/F shaft project and NON waterproof CTX headphone adapter. Going to test it all out this weekend WHUUHUU.

Nice! Is the lower coil shaft carbon fiber too?

Yes it is an anderson Carbon fiber which I had originally bought for my AT-Pro and Seahunter II. I sold the seahunter but kept the rod. I only had to add a little bushing to the EQ800 pod as it was a little loose and add rubber washers to the coil to stop it from being loose.

Thanks, that's what I was wondering. Do the coil tabs/shaft connection seem pretty safe with the extra rubber washers? I tried this with a Whites lower by adding rubber washers, but it was putting a lot of pressure/flex on the coils tabs so I took it off.

Just try and keep the coil ears as flat as possible because if you break them there are no replacement parts yet?

I was thinking of adding a Nokta kickstand myself. How well does it fit? Any mods to it?

I need to add some ss washers as it is a little loose but when done it is perfection. Even with the arms closed it still sits off of the ground which is what I was looking for.

I like that kickstand as well. I was about to ask who makes it but yiu answered it for me. Is there a patent on it? That’s something that all detectors should have, great add on sales for all of them IMHO.

I did this project because I had the c/f shaft and I think it will help in the water too as we put a lot of stress and torque on the rods swinging in the water. Now I need to make up a leash for it as it may float away being so light lol and to keep the strain off of my headphone cable.
