My fall season kicked off three weeks ago

And I haven't done well. I have two new permissions, right next to where a colonial house once sat. I found 3 Lincoln memorial cents. Went to an adjacent property and got a lot of trash. Went to my PA honey hole and just found some trash. I went to yet another spot and rescued the world from aluminum, but not much else. I did get one small piece of a colonial shoe buckle. Slow start to the year. Nothing to really get a picture of.

I get that a lot. I will spend day after day and nothing. Then I will all of a sudden I get a great day... the sun will always shines after a storm..

That's the reality of our hobby, we just see the good hunts here for the most part. Nice to see I'm not alone.

I agree I think its that way for most of us its been about 10 hunts now no silver. The fun for me is the anticipation and what you might find. We are there with you my friend the day is coming Ill be looking for your Banner post. Tommy

I'm supposed to go out this weekend. New place. So much land, so little time! That one aluminum junk yard was amazing. The aluminum occurred in all types available. Depending on the size and mass of the piece, it would ring from 45, which could be gold, all the way to 97!

You know what I was told "some days you get the elevator...." We all remember the rest of the story. I don't think you will give up and quit.

glad that you are at least getting out and yes, sounds a little frustrating right now but that first good find will put a smile back on your face. we know that it is a numbers thing, the more holes that you dig, the more places you go to but it helps the numbers to be at a decent spot to begin with and I know that you felt like these were decent spots. I know that you will plug away anyways and end up with more of those awesome finds. The odds are pretty good for you my friend. Jerry

Yes, some of last years' sites are hunted down pretty good. I have several hundred acres to do.....oh the horror of it.
