I would have to say that over the years I have always loved listening to the following drummers. Having played the drums years ago, these were the drummers that influenced my style. Although different styles, I am sure you can appreciate their rhythms. Ginger Baker, my favorite was a jazz/blues artist, John Bonham in my opinion the best rock drummer and of course Phil Collins who is no slouch sitting on the throne. All of the aforementioned drummers brought their unique drumming patterns like triplets on the bass drum, and intricate beat patterns. I know that Baker was influenced by African rythmns and it showed on his Airforce albums. It seems that Phil Collins also shared some of that influence on his later albums like "Dance Into The Light".
