My first great find

Found this today at and old farm foundation.
It says: "Pat.18?? 1881 Rogers A1" it has 2 loop like designs on either side of the "Rogers" I'm guessing its silver. Any body know anything about it.

Here is one like yours I found on etsy: Vintage Wm A Rogers A1 Pat sep 13 98 Silver by ohthatoldthing. It appears to be silver plate.

This is a very nice first find. I found a large spoon in what I think was an old outhouse site last spring. I was happy.
