My First Half Dime Pics!!

OK, I tried many ways to clean this coin and the only thing I found that worked was some silver jewelry
cleaner and a Q-tip. I wish I had taken a pic of it before cleaning because this guy was black and crusty
and you couldn't see the date at all and you could just make out the lady. I have never sold any of the coins or
relics that I have found but I do like to display my finds. Hope the pic's turn out good.

"South", great find:

1857 half dime 'variety two' (stars on obverse versus 'variety one' that had no stars surrounding Liberty). 7.28 million issued. The series lasted only five years (1856-1859). The half dime dates (eight series) ran from 1794 to 1873.

A terrific find! I like the way they look out of the ground compared to shiny and polished clean.
