My three year old and I went for a short walk across the road into a field that was just harvested yesterday. There's an old homesite over in the woods nearby but it's really overgrown in there. So we just detected along the tree line by it. Got a few buckles and assorted junk then began to head toward home. A good distance away from the homesite I started digging some canslaw. Thought this beauty would be more of it. Boy was I surprised when only a few inches down this popped out. One of my favorite digs to date

I wish some of those would pop out on me. Congrats!

Well that dime is the last year of Barber dimes.and someone did not treat it gently.

It's a good thing it wasn't another stinkin Indian:laughing7:.....jk, very cool, I think a holed coin is always cooler than one not holed, unless it were a rare or key coin anyways.

ow, that hurts!!

It came from a plowed field and has plow damage on it. It has enough detail on it to guess it was holed early in its life. It's a survivor

Nice find!! Congrats. HH

I am planning on a trip to the stinkin Indian site tomorrow. I'll post the 1877 when I get home

Cool Barber, what stories could that coin tell? That's way better than anything I've dug from a field. I need to take a walk like that.

Silver with a headache, cool looking.

It looked like a 63 Kennedy at 1st. What??? Too Soon???

Nice job on the Barber dime.

I'm excited to get back out in that field. I just ordered a Nel 12 x 13 yesterday and it should be perfect for this. I like field hunting because I don't have to be neat with my digging
