Went to a church permission today and found a 1929 mercury dime & a large cent. The large cent is completely toast except for the date. It looks like 1794 to me? Also been using my 8X5.5 coil I got and I like it a lot. It seems to do a pretty good job in heavy iron & I'm getting half decent depth with it for a smaller coil. Thanks for looking.

Congratulations Ed
Great start for the New Year
Thanks for sharing

Nice finds. Too bad copper does not hold up well in most ground. Congrats!

Good hunt.
At least the date was still readable.
Now get a readable silver from the same period.

I was using my Manticore that day. But I also have a Deus 2 WS6 master that I like to use.

When grading large cents, the lowest grade is AG-3. The only requirement for AG-3 is “clear enough to identify”. Even though your coin is toasted, it is indeed identifiable!
