I finally found one. I've been hitting an old school yard and have scored silver 3 out of 4 times.
I also found a few wheaties - the oldest is 1909. The gold looking coin is a 1000 peso from Mexico,
when you see one your heart skips a beat until you realize what it is! I think it's also cool to collect Scouting stuff, this time it was a Girl Scout pin. Sorry for the poor quality picture - my camera is terrible. Thanks for looking.

It's always a thrill to pull something - a ring or coin - I love old coins like Mercs,SLQ's and Walkers - Reminds me of my childhood coin collecting - later spent on beer!!! What a mistake!!

wtg on a cool batch of coins :icon_thumleft:

he is a lil info on your 1000 peso coin

it is out of circulation , if it wasnt it would be worth $74.69 with the exchange rate .

BUT

Old Mexican pesos can be exchanged at currency exchange centers in Mexico for their equivalent amount in the new currency. ie 2000 pesos old for 2000 pesos new. This according to the Banco de Mexico website.

:icon_thumright: hope this gives you a lil more info than you had on your cool chunky coin

ATA-BOY on the first!! Looks like you put the shine to the merc. Just be carefull what coins you polish up because if a key date comes out and you polish it, it could de-value the coin. Keep up the great work! 8)

Hey if that 1000 peso coin is still accepted and based on todays exchange value of $1 US to 0.074744 Pesos then its worth $75!

I did put the shine to it - I know it's just a common. All I did was give it a baking soda/water mixture and it cleaned it up . If it was something of value I'd leave it as is.
