I found my first arrowhead today and was just hoping to get some info on it (type, age, etc.) The point is 2" in length. Any help would be great!

Welcome! If you wish for any help it would be to your advantage to share what general geographical area (state) that it was found.

I'm not sure that is an arrowhead. Looks a bit off balance to fly straight. It looks serrated on purpose. "Maybe" a little double edged knife? They didn't like to waste anything from a kill. Could be an arrowhead though. I'm curious too. Nice find anyway.

Welcome to the party. A beautiful piece indeed. Maybe a spear point. What location was it found in? Good Luck and Happy Hunting

A 2" spear point is ok if they tried to spear birds & squirrels with it. Seems like a lot of running & broken points though.

This was a surface find on a friends property down in New Mexcico

Your piece shows many "Dalton" like characteristics. Although you found it west of the normal distribution area and the fact that it would be an unusually small example, it looks very much like a Greenbrier Dalton, early Archaic point...ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1458194751.332896.webp

Here's Gregory Perino's assessment on them ( the distribution area listed is out dated by 35 years)...ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1458196054.767907.webp
