An Indian Head cent! I went to a local school today and had a very frustrating couple of hours - tons of pull tabs and foil, not even a cent of clad. Then I found the necklace below (3rd pic), but it was laying on the surface, so it felt like it didn't really count ::)

Then, just as I was thinking I'd give up for the day, I found this! 1889 ;D

after a couple more hours, lots more trash and $.51 (including a 2001 VT state quarter), got tired and came home happy.

The last pic is leftovers from last weekend - found the Zippo in my grandma's front yard.

Thanks for looking, and HH!

Nice find Lara, Congrats. It looks like I live close to you, so may I suggest hunting Crystal Park near Clark U ( I have found some nice items there), and if you really want a great place to hunt, try Beaver Brook Park when the city is finished re-doing it in summer 2007.

What make detector are you using?

Happy Hunting! ;D

An IH find makes a clad day a happy day.
don't pitch that zippo. There are lots of collectors of zippos out there and you an even send it in to Zippo and they will repair it or give you a replacement. If you really don't want it, I'd be interested in it as I want to start collecting lighters so please PM me.

Thanks, guys!

Hey Wormtown,
Thanks for the suggestions! ya, we live very close, I think - I replied to one of your posts a while back, I think (if not, pm'ed you). This was at Flagg St. School. My detector is a Minelab x-terra 50. It's my first, got it a month ago, and I'm so addicted. If you're ever looking for a hunting buddy, let me know.

IH cents are always fun to find, but wait until your first silver coin, that really gets the blood pumping!

BTW I sent you a PM.

Happy Hunting!
