Well i have read a few posts of people searching thru rolls and i decided to try it my self. I got $20 in pennys and found 29 wheaties the oldest a 1940 and about a dozen canidians and one coin i don't know what it is. on the one side it says "bundesrrepublik deutschland 1984". The front says "2 Pfennig (the last letter could be a C but i don't know)" Any ideas???? I also picked up $95 in dimes today and found a 1952 d dime and a canadian dime a 1982 if i remember right. I am very excited because it is my first silver coin. Is it pretty normal to get one silver per $100 or so? Also it is easier to get silver quarters? LOL and one more question, are canadian dimes siliver???

Nice finds!! Canadian dimes were silver to about 1967 or 1968 forget which. Congrats on the silver dime! Quarters are harder than dimes, but nickels are the easiest. hmmm ever since i made that post on hunting coin rolls everyone is tryin it ;D Your other coin is a deutsch or german pfennig most likely :)

Nice way to kill cabin fever! The "Bundesrepubik Deutschland 2 Pfennig" is a German coin, no longer used since we went to the Euro in 2001. Canadian silver stopped at 1967. HH, Mike

Good finds....I just got one of those german cents also 1979....Those were alot of wheats to find ...I usually average 1 per roll..... :)

silver seems to be the rage...what exactly would a "silver dime" be worth? .11 cents? lol....I just wonder if it is worth buying $100 in dimes...for 1 silver. I find more than that just checking my change every time I go to the store. But until I started coming to this website I was clueless to any coin info..now I am slightly above clueless.

might be worth alot if the dime is a rare date, also if its in good condition it has numismatic collectors value too!

I called the local coin shop yesterday (spot for silver was about $8.40 oz), and they said they were paying 5.5 times face, so a silver dime could be sold for 55 cents. They were even paying 95 cents each for the 40% halves.

see...I learn something every day...and I thought my mind was full....merry christmas everybody
