Metal Detecting has become a newfound passion that started for me in October of this year. I started out with a Garrett Ace 250, and quickly switched over to a Minelab Explorer II, a switch I have been very happy with. This first 3 months of hunting has taken me to many parts of my local area that I would have never seen otherwise. I have had pleasant conversations with curious people on the beach, I have enjoyed terrific competition between new friends, I have shared in the wonderful finds of others and they have shared in my finds as well. This hobby has given me the opportunity to experiment, to enjoy time outdoors, to collect, and I have felt a thrill and a rush at almost every single beep of the coil. I have had amazing hunting days, and days where I was lucky to find a pull tab. All along the way, even during the poor hunting days, I have enjoyed the challenge to find the next treasure. While my collection may be humble so far, every find to me is special. My saltwater finds may be toasty, but I have a collection full of character and stories. Here's wishing you a happy new year, and I truly hope that your season was as memorable as mine. Here is a summary of my grabs from October, November and December:
