Woohoo, I got my first 1700s coin! I think it's a George I half penny, but I can't read the date, looks like a 17x9. I'm super excited because this confirms the location of a colonial fort I've been seeking for months. I also attached one in better condition.

Here's an odd update, it looks distinctly like the 3rd number in the date is a 5 or and 8. But based on the style of coin I'm sure it's a George I half penny. But based on what I can read of the date, it absolutely is not George I. It's very strange. Maybe it's counterfeit.
