After running chitty errands I decided to visit my fave Lake Michigan Beach.
Damnit, I needed some fun after a few hectic weeks.
So I found myself walking the beach alone, no one was there, bliss. I French inhaled the isolation. ANYWAY...I was totin' the Fisher 1280 then discovered the sand is frozen solid.

Ok, ok....So this is what I found...no silver, gold, wheats, toys...just the best I could do...and I'm happy wit the haul!

On the "holi" stones I find, well, I use em in my driftwood, mirror, bead, creation I call a suncatcher.

And I also collect rocks with numbers on them....found a "6" today!

That is very Nice and some very cool finds.

Nova Treasure

They look like cookies! :icon_thumleft: (I think I might be hungry)

Chilly walk up there Vibes...Nice stones :laughing9: Not swinging a detector while you were strolling on the blustery beach huh? On a side note, I guess it was a good thing I went and marked the spot of the bottle dig huh? :tongue3: I hate snow...Merry Christmas in good ole ND Country! jgas

My fiance loves beach glass so your finds are right up her alley!!!

Are all the holes manmade, or are they made by the movement of the water? I find a few holed, rounded pieces of
pottery, that I think are probably gaming pieces. Not buttons, as they only have one hole.
Who painted that 6 on the rock? :laughing7: He/she has too much time on their hands.
Good hunt.

Don't you just love the shapes of some of the driftwood washed up

Rock and Roll Vibes, Rock and Roll.

Doesn't look like Mr. Winter is going to spare us anytime soon here in Michiana Land.

Merry Christmas

You had a very nice, mellow, french inhaling day! I'm looking up at my little area of stones, petrified wood, weird raw copper, etc., as I'm writing this. Eyeball finds can be more fun than actually detecting. Nah, decent combination though. Cool stuff dere!

Very nice finds Vibe. Just remember. Treasure is in the eyes of the beholder. It doesn't have to be all silver and gold. To me the silver and gold are bonuses the rest is the treasure.
That's a very nice crafted piece. Keep up the good work.
A toast :coffee2: to more good finds.

Vibes,
Beautiful piece of art. :icon_thumleft: That piece of wood with the hole would make a great front entrance on a rustic birdhouse.
You've got quite a collection of future art pieces there from Lake Michigan. All I can say is, "us Hoosiers have talent." ;D
Thanks for the post & Happy Holidays,
MM

I was bundled up and looked like that kid in A Christmas Story, a tick ready to pop!! Ahhh, but warmth trumps fashion on a blustery Lake Michigan day! I lugged that Fisher all over the beach...couldn't break thru the frozen sand! Glad you marked the spot for spring digging. I found a GREAT bottle dump but haven't been there in years...a retired TV reporter told me the location.

ALL my stones are nature made...and the "6" rock is not painted...it really is a natural design. If my found pieces weren't authentic...it would take the fun out of the hunt! Oh and it sounds like you're finding Indian Beads, or that's what I call them but technically I think they're vertebrae.

I just finished reading a book on beach glass...I didn't realize it's becoming scarce & collectible due to plastic, no one uses glass anymore:(

Heya Carl...yes a mellow day. Before I hit the beach I was thinking that I'd love to find an arrowhead...and I did...I was beyond excited. It was perfect with a hole at the bottom. I thought DAMN this is worth HUGE money until I discovered it's plastic ::)

Ooooo...good idea on the birdhouse entrance! I'm not sure how I'll utilize it...but it IS a fun find! I sit and look at the pieces because eventually they'll speak to me and I'll know exactly what to create. Maybe a mermaid:) Happy Holidays to you too.

vibes, I really enjoy your artwork, some things just begged to be picked up. These objects seem to be random and lonely out in thier outdoor confines, but then a soul unites them and gives them life. I understand about the isolation stroll, good for spirit :icon_thumleft:

Thanks for sharing
