I could vaguely remember my grandpa having a few arrowheads, in the top of his closet, as a kid. After I got interested in the last year, I went back and asked my grandmother where his arrowheads were and if I could buy them from her. I told her where I remembered seeing them as a kid and we found them just there.. in a little tin box in the top of the bedroom closet. My dad remembered the spot my grandfather said he found them in and I spent the afternoon looking myself (no luck). It’s an interesting spot, there’s what I would call a large rock outcrop by a stream.. According to my dad, my grandpa always told him this rock was ripe with arrowheads and he only saved a few... My grandpa believed the rock was where Native Americans would flint knap arrowheads (not saying I believe this, but it made an interesting story).. sadly he isn’t here to ask for advice on looking for more, but I’m thinking about digging around this rock or at least making it a point to hunt the area after every rain, I appreciate any suggestions? Thanks all! These were found in Northeast, Georgia

I say go for it, definitely check after a good rain. Also check any gravel bars.

If it was a knapping station used for any length of time there should be thousands of flint chips around it. Flint doesn't erode away so they should still be around there. Gary

Nice early points. The area looks promising. With all the weeds, it looks like it may have been cleared off at one time not too long ago, which would definitely have made for better looking.

Looks like grandpa did some digging, nice points, go get your hands dirty.
