Detector(s) used
Primary detector is a Garrett AT Pro
Also have a Garrett Ace 250
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
I was digging a 1920's bungalow yesterday afternoon and got a siganl on
the Ace 250 that said "dollar". That usually means crushed can, but it was a
slow day, so what the heck, I dug it. What I found was a 5 pound chunk
of lead with a "W" engraved on top of it. Does anyone know what this is?

Oh yeah,it's about 3" in diameter. You can hold it in your hand, it's just heavy.

Looks like a weight to me....Could the "W" be an "M"?

Sandfiddler,
I checked out that website. That's exactly it! I called them and asked out of curiosity how
much it was worth. Fifty cents a pound for a grand total of $2.50! I also asked about the
"W" and they said "Don't know, Our's ahn't mahked with nuthin!" I asked them if it was
"Hahd ta find pahkin' in Hahvid Yahd this time a yeah?" Them folks in Mass. talk funny :D
I believe I'll keep it or give it to someone who fishes and makes their own weights.
First I'm taking it to my club and see if I can win in the "odd find" category.

Thanks and HH,

Seems people lost interest pretty fast on it though. It was at the very least odd.
