Nice! I've found a lot of Civil War related ones here in the States - great save!
 

Surprise find of the day. Button marked GS Taylor, Yarmouth. GS Taylor was a Master Mason in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia in the 1870s.

For me this is as good or better than a whole cannonball. At this particular site I've found 6 cannonball of all calibers as well as many mortar fragments and even half a bar shot. This site was the scene of a prolonged engagement between the British and French in the early 1700s. I can just imagine this 8 pounder being fired and hitting something hard enough to fracture. Good times!
