Search my new place and found two water spickets, piece of some silver plated Hippie sunglasses, 52 D and 54 D Wheaties, a ©1950 fire chief car from the 911 play set and a weird belt buckle... any ideas on the buckle?

The belt buckle is a cool find! It's a toy from the 60's made by Mattel. It had a derringer cap gun that fit inside of it that would actually shoot a plastic bullet. My dad found the one of them years ago, and I didn't figure out what it was until about 6 months ago. He only has the gun, no buckle or bullet. Great find, keep it up!

Great finds, but I like your socks the best!

Thanks for the info on the buckle I thought it may have had a lighter gun in it... :-)

Haha, that would be cool too... But it would be awkward for the person asking for a light ;)

Cool backyard finds! Wish my yard would produce stuff like that.

I've found a number of zinc canning lids on my place, but only clad coins. Under the lawn I found a large iron plate, and figured I'd found the cache. Didn't dig it right away, I savored the thought of there being a jar of silver coins under that plate, so let the suspense grow a few days. Then the bummer happened, I dug up the plate, and it was covering a water shutoff valve. You know, it's really not nice to disappoint and old man like that. I've still only found clad, dog tags, and toy cars along with zinc canning lids and various bits and pieces of automobiles, nothing old or good. I've added a lot of .22 brass out back, so that's a bummer also, but every now and then I have to try my own yard again.

Cool socks and neat new finds

plugcutter is right on with the belt buckle. I had one of those when I was a kid!

Save that brass you find. Brass scrap sells to recyclers for about $1.75/lb, and it adds up quick. Copper does a little better at about $2.75/lb.
