Had 2 hours this morning, decided to hit the site where I have found LC's, 3 cent nickels and a slick copper. Faint wheat penny signal. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1511542684.822713.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1511542708.806633.webp
Thought, "cool a token", size of a LC but a little thinner, but could tell it has some design under the crud

Rubbed some dirt off on my glove and saw US, googled Old Large Cents, found no matches. Sent pic to Steve of PA, he said it looks like a Nova Constellatio, no way! A little more rubbing and 1783, ok stopped rubbing.

Can anyone confirm if this is a Nova and type? I think I need to tooth pick some more crud off, seems like it has a lot of detail under the dirt.

Dried, then flaked with wooden skewer pics:

(Thanks for looking!)

Good luck out there!

It's a Nova Constellatio!

That's the real deal brother! There was one on the banner earlier this year!(Scrappy found it).

Do nothing else to the coin, it is worthy of a professional cleaning.

You hit the jackpot my man. That's your best find ever!

Big congrats sir.

Unreal! Nice score!

For the various Nova Constellatio copper types you can go to: NovaNumismatics.com. This might help you. Click on Essays which is found under the Numismatic sections. Your coin is the 4th on the right.

That’s a killer coin. I hope it cleans up well. It actually looks like the same Variety as the one I found a year ago. If it’s ok by you I can post a couple pics. In the meantime here’s an identification guide ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1511546994.597853.webp

The condition looks a-ok as well. Of the 15-20 posted on here over the years, many are toast. You’re holding quite a piece of history - look it up, it’s an amazing read. Congrats again

Wow dude---Jackpot ! :occasion14:

Congrats on the rare old copper, banner vote from me. I wouldn't do anything else to it,looks like a lot of the details are in the patina
