Got out and about today with a bunch of my fellow IL t-netters. Day started off slowly for me, however I eventually found my oldest coin!! It's a well worn shield nickel, found right on the surface. It's either an 1866 or an 1868 (I can't tell). This site has yielded an AMAZING number of old coins and relics. I've been detecting for about a year, and have never before seen so many old coins and relics being dug by so many different detectorists on the same site in such a short time. Goodies were everywhere, and everyone found something :D . Pics below. Enjoy!! ;D Now to search for some cut silver.... :laughing9: :tongue3:
