Finally got out for the first time this year in Wisconsin,, Went to a school yard not to far from the house . Started digging up the usual clad coins and then BANG my Ace 250 got a hit and dug down about 5 inches and staring back at me was this nice looking 1865 Indian Head Penny. Of all places in a front of a school that is only about 30 years old...One never knows what's buried even in newer places. Last year I found two Indian Heads 1902 & 1882 but they were on a old walking trail.. Last year I was out coin hunting in Jan, Feb & March up here in Wisconsin. But not this year.. I am sure most guys living in the Northern States had the same problem.. Snow & COLD>>
Hope the pics are clear enough,.. There is a little corrosion around the date but not bad for a 148 year old coin... Shane

Nice ! Someone could have lost their show-and-tell coin.

Beautiful condition

That's a beauty, Shane

That IH is in great condition. Congrats!

nice injun! that school was probly something else back in the late 1800s, hit it again, low n slow

I plan to do more hunting there as the whole school & baseball field takes in about a good 2 block square.. With luck maybe this Indian has a twin underground someplace in that area waiting for me
