Last Saturday I went on a group hunt arranged by the detecting club I belong to here in Greensboro.
The objective of the hunt was to locate any items that might relate to the original owners of the property.
Considering the house was built in the late 1700’s and the location is off a well traveled road, we were correct in suspecting the property had been hit in the past.
No old coins or jewelry was found.
Still, I was able to pull the front and top of this old lock out of a thick patch of iron while the back was found 10 feet away by our club president.

Not sure how old the lock is but I am sure it’s the oldest lock I have dug.
Now, where is the pirate treasure chest this lock came from?
Anyhow, I had a great day!
HH everyone.
