I went to an elementary school after work today. I went to this school from k to 3rd grade in the 80's. Anywho! The 2 older sites I detect at are so overgrown I can't do anything at, so I decided to hit this school in hopes of some gold or silver jewlery in the meantime. Of course I'm digging dimes, pennies, a nickel and a couple quarters. But the nice high penny signal about 6 inches down turned out to be a nice dropped 3 ringer. Imagine my surprise when I saw that in the clump! lol Now whether this was a show and tell piece a long time ago, if it was brought in from fill dirt or if it was originally there I don't know. I'd have to research the area and see if there was any civil war activity. Either way I'm happy to have it! HH everyone.
