Answered an ad that said just inherited a garage full of grandfather's stuff and can come sort through piles and buy what you like. Wasted no rime and set up an appt for the next day on my way home from work. Turns out it was basically an episode of American Pickers. Large 2 room garage piled with stuff everywhere and another trailer behind that loaded with stuff. Nothing had been sorted and it was obviously collected by someone for years and had a wide assortment of different kinds of things, mostly antiques.

Ended up buying a medium sized lot of the following:

-large solid brass show shine stand
-2 cast iron horse style shoe shine stands
-wall sconce gas lamp
-cast iron train #5 0
-cast iron dragon candle holder
-cast iron solider holding spotlight toy/figurine
-box full of silver plated crap (scrap brass anyone?)
-1878 french bayonet sword DE ST ETIEME (missing scabbard)

Now for the silver:

-1 troy ounce marked sterling candy dish
-3 serving spoons marked "800PK" (yogya silver, indonesia) over 7 troy ounces
-1875 seated quarter (scratched but otherwise VF-20)
-1858 seated half dime (F-12)
-2 morgans
-3 90% halves (ken, ben, walker)
-3 40% halves
-3 silver wash quarters
-1 no date standing lib (w/ stars)
-2 barber dimes
-5 mercs
-15 silver rosies

I paid a little less than what all the coins would sell for on ebay for the entire lot.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
