MY SCUFF COVER KEEPS FALLING OFF MY NEW VAQUERO ONLY 2 DAYS OLD

I had the same problem with my Tesoro Tiger Shark. I ended up gluing 3 pieces of velcro around the outside top of the coil cover and 3 pieces on the coil to match. Just a matter of removing the cover once in a while to remove the sand. I think I used Goop for the glue. It worked well and the cover never came loose. Hope this helps....

BOBBYC...This should not happen. The scuff should be very tight and hard to remove. Mine is so tight I cracked it first time I took it off.
You should contact the dealer you bought it from or call Tesoro. They will probably send you a replacement. You shouldn't have to velcro or glue it.

I had the same problem with my Silver Umax- I used several pieces of black electrical tape, to tape the coil cover to the coil, worked perfect, I hope this helps you.

I agree. My cover fits so tightly that I feel like I'm going to crack it when I take it off for cleaning. Don't put anything on it - Tesoro will certainly take care of you...

Thanks for all your help I will contact tesoro and my dealer I will keep you all posted on what they do

My dealer took care of it gave me a new scuff (detectordepot.com) very good people .

Why use a coil cover at all?
Just one more thing between you and the target and a source of problems.

Has anyone ever actually worn out a coil by scuffing it on the ground?

Most people I see using detectors are waving them about 6 inches off the ground as the swing madly along.
I have seen very few actually maintaining a close and proper distance thru their entire swing.
Which is a good thing ... leaves more deep targets for me ...

Even if you do wear out a coil in say, 5 years ... they are cheap and easy to replace.

Coil covers Indeed! Just one more gimmick item to sell you.

I agree on certain coils. However the coil on my vaquero does not have rounded edges and can be hard to swing in tall grass. The coil cover is a must.

Maybe it is hard to wear out a coil, but if you ever sell the detector down the line having a clean unscratched coil will add more than the price of the cover to what you can sell it for.
