After my first day, I thought I had it all figured out. Then came pull tabs, rusty nails, and junk. However, I did find these. I'm getting to know the equipment better and feel confident that I'll better understand my V3i.
No, it's not silver. It's a 1966. The park I am working was created in 1994 so I knew there wasn't going to be any silver coins. I'm using the park to get a feel for the sounds of the machine and general use. I'm hoping to maybe find some silver or gold jewelry. I'm getting prepared to hunt an old mining town next Monday. This is my third day of owning a detector.
Welcome to t-net! Nice scout tie slide. You've got a good chance of digging some groovy old items in the mining town -- let us know how that goes. And take care. When hiking rural mining areas in mountains of central Arizona, I nearly fell down an unseen very deep mining shaft when I stepped behind big bushes to take a leak. But I do have better memories of AZ, like finding tourmaline crystals, copper minerals and good friends & friendly horses. HAVE FUN! Andi
