Hey everyone ,
I just got back from a great detecting weekend . All of my Family went to my Mom and Dad's cabin up in the Sierras for the weekend , so my Son and I took the the detectors along hoping to get some time to hunt the local lake . This lake was man made back in the early 1900's and is always good for some silver . When the water starts to be let out in Aug. , it's time for some hunting . 4 of the 11 wheats I found were right on the surface ! This happens every time I hunt after the water goes down . The silver is never that deep either . All were at 2 -3 inches . My Son found one silver dime , a 1948 Rosie . I found 5 silvers and 2 older Jefferson nickels ! They are 1957D and 1961D Washingtons , 1942S and 1945 Mercurys , 1950S Rosie and a 1945S War nickel . The other nickel are a 1941 and 1958 . The wheats are 1919S , 29 , 36 , 36S , (2) 41, 49, 52S , 56D, 57D, and 1958D . It too bad the 1919S is the bent one . It was one of the surface finds . We also found $4.60 in clad in 6 hours . I'm going back again in November when the lake will be very low . Maybe find some Indians and Barbers .......
Thanks for looking ,
Glen
