Nice, I love gems. I was watching a jewelry chanel this week and they had 100 carat mixed parcels for
!!55.00!! I know the quality and rarity wouldn't be the greatest but it would be fun to buy just to look through.

It sounds like a good deal .. i my self got a bucket of gemstone dirt from North Carolina and i found over 400 stones in the bucket and out of those i traded my self to the collection i have now..

The bucket cost 35 $ including shipping at http://www.rubycity.com

Sounds cool, what kind of stones did you find? Were they all dirty and rough or were there crystals like tourmaline that looked nice straight from the dirt? I want to go to Colorado someday to the opal mines and find my own black opal.

i found Emeralds. Topaz. Tourmaline. Agate. Quartz. Garnet. Ruby. Peridot. and Amethyst

all dirty but very easy to find in the bucket.

very good verity of stones in those buckets

Tiger,

That is a nice little collection that you have there. You are off to a great start. Keep up the good work.

Hey Tiger, I went to the site that sells the bucket 'o gems and dirt, it looks like a great buy. Were the stones in there faceted and placed in the bucket or rough milky stones that hadn't been cut? Did you sell yours or find someone who had your whole collection and wanted to trade for the ones you found in the bucket? I'm really thinking about buying 3 buckets for $99 so my kids and nieces/nephews could enjoy a dig. Fill me in!
