Detector(s) used
CTX 3030,
Xp Deus,
That's it, I'm done.
Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
So a while back I picked up an old Minelab Sovereign Elite in order to do some beach hunting. First time out I find a nice 14k men's wedding band and I was hooked. The gold finds kept on coming and I was well on my way to purchasing a better water detector. Thought about getting an Excal when I realized after nearly 3 months I had found enough for a CTX 3030 with all the goodies!
So here I am, a proud owner of one the best beach detectors available today. So why am I still using my cheap old Sovereign:icon_scratch:

LOL I know what you mean.

it took my sovereign to take a Dump before I even gave an Explorer a real chance.

The Explorer is Awesome for deep silver.
I found silver where the Sovereign seemed to fail.

But the Explorer sucks Royally when it comes to Finding gold :(

I have no real gold since my Sovereign Died :(

FBS Great for deep Silver
BBS great for gold Jewelry and coins

the Sovereign with a W.O.T. Coil Killer relic machine.

I can only imagine it on a beach

Something about that BBS and gold. I can't put the machine down. I'll sit at home and run gold rings under the coil with my eyes closed and just listen. My wife says I'm nuts, she's usually right.

Yes & have you noticed yet that by tone, you can pretty much say
Class ring, Woman's engagement ring, men's Wedding band,
before even digging & be pretty Darn accurate :laughing7:

Haven't quite gotten to that level yet Jeff, but I'm getting there. Soon I'll be able to tell what stone is in the ring as well:tongue3:

I chest mount it, run a 12x10 SEF coil on an Anderson shaft. Looking for another one just for future use.

I must be a rookie still, I can say out of the gold I have dug this year, I only predicted one..I called it a gold ring, and it was a gold grill. And all were with the Sovereigns brother...excal

maybe it was the regularity of the ring finds that helped.
or the size/Karat. Not sure . but it was impressing me:laughing7:

it wasn't fool proof, But I remember at least on class rings it was most accurate.

yes I had one white Gold diamond engagement ring, I swore was a nail.
But there was a nail among other trash in the hole with it

I could but I love my CTX in the dirt. HH Gl

I just sold my Elite a few months ago due to closet space. Now I have a bigger house with closets and no Elite..:icon_scratch:

My Elite has been very good to me...I will never part with it;
