I just finished year number 19 of detecting. My year runs from May 1 (when I started detecting in 2002) and ends April 30. This year was my best for total coin face value. Up until now my best was $1232.80 with second best $851.68. Because of the pandemic the camp was closed last summer and I had full access to all sites for the whole year. So I spent a lot of time cleaning up at the camp. There are lots of coins and interesting items, but very litttle silver, gold or jewelry. There are also very few older items from the old farm.
The totals for the year are as follows:
202 days detecting for 896.5 hours of using the CZ21 and the ATPro
17,674 coins with a face value of $1447.90 including: 5 dollar coins, 13 foreign coins (not part of the face value count), 3 Indian heads, 1 v nickel, 3 buffalos and a 2 cent piece
Total lifetime coins 146,753
Silver..... 19 coins, 15 rings, 3 chains, 38 earrings, 16 earring backs, 6 other miscellaneous pieces
Gold.....7 rings, 8 earrings, 3 other miscellaneous pieces
49 other rings (not gold or silver)
2 class ring returns with honorable mentions
17 civil war bullets
63 scout neckerchief slides
5,210 camp tent pegs returned to camp use
Some of my best finds:
Dragon neckerchief slide. Barber quarter
World’s Fair elongated penny. Diamond ring
World War 2 Philippines coin. 2 cent piece
Civil War Marine button. Local history tag
Gold and silver jewelry Silver half dollar
I didn’t find as many pieces of jewelry as I have in the past and fewer older coins and artifacts, but it was still a busy and interesting year.
Thanks for looking. Stay safe and may your coil lead you to good things. Good luck to all and HH.
