Hey everyone this is my first post. This past Valentine's Day my wife said let's go metal detecting before we go eat out somewhere. She has the itch but hasn't really pulled the trigger on saying she wants her own. So we decided to hit up the grounds of the first airport in my city also was the training grounds for WW2 flight training. Its a public park now. So we started to walk in a random area and first hit was a strong one. I dug a 2inch by 4inch hole and HOLY smokes I saw my first silver circle shape object. I knew it was going to be sweet. My wife's expression was priceless I stayed calm and cool but she went crazy lol said a few $%$# words and goes no way. We pulled it from the ground.. We were just in complete awe. For this to be our first hit and on Valentines Day couldn't ask for anything more to happen on that day. Detector god's were looking out for me that afternoon, they knew if we don't throw this man a bone his wife is not going to be happy. HAHAHA

Seems like fate is sending you and your wife a definite message: Time for a detector for her, and may you have many fun and successful detecting adventures together, especially on Valentine's Days. Well done on that really special first find! May it be the first of many. :occasion14:

Great story! Welcome from White Plains, NY. :occasion14:

I have got out of my car twice in the past couple months and found a mercury on my first hit. One was at a new permission at a 1920s house.
I thought man I'm not even close to the house yet, I'll probably find at least 100 more. Both times I should have went home. Not one more silver.
It makes me laugh. The other night I was trying a new program at the 1920s house I mentioned. I parked across the street at a church. After spending
several hours and not finding anything except 2 wheats I headed home and found a Roosevelt silver dime in the parking lot of the church.

I love those Walkers, my favorite design. Congrats on your first!

Noticed this is your very first post - so, Welcome Aboard! Take a look at Sub-Forums: Texas for information (i.e., clubs, etc.) directly related to your state.

Nothing better than digging a Walking Lib Half. Congrats on your first one. Remember, Happy Wife Happy Life. I'd go get her a detector fast !

Welcome and I would hit that spot again, it's a nice big range of dates between your coins, there should be more.
