Looks like you have the Gold Hill properties in your backyard Chris. That would put you near Old Mine Road? That valley back there is part of 11 patented mining grants. There is hardrock gold there about 200 foot down according to the drill reports from around 2010. That's a lot of time with a number two shovel. :laughing7:

That property has been for sale for years. I got a brief look at it back in the late 1980's, it's mineralized but so is a good part of southern Arizona. Lots of flim flam claims of millions of dollars of rich ore but no proof that anyone could mine it at a profit. There may be some residual placers in the washes in the area below the mines but it's all private property so I guess we will never know for sure. Unless you have the 46 million dollars to buy seven of those patents and find out?

The schist looks good but gold is where you find it. Probably quite a few minerals associated with those deposits. You can find similar deposits on the hill in the middle of Paradise Valley. A friend and I sampled his property there in the early 80's and found small free gold. Not worth tearing up his property but there is gold there. Made for good entertainment when he had barbeques. People like seeing gold come out of their backyard.

You always have such awesome info. Thanks brotha

is that more commonly copper deposits or could the veins be gold

Chris,

I"ve seen it associated with both especially here in the Southeastern part of the state. Nice thing about AZ is that where you find copper you can find gold. And gold here almost always wears an iron hat.

Granite. I see lots of magnetite. Granite can have gold but I don't see any gold in your rock.

Lots of stuff looks like gold, shines and even streaks yellow and will pass an acid test but isn't gold. Gold is amazing. When you find it you'll know it. I can't stress that enough.

And don't worry about crushing your rocks. They aren't going in the National Museum. :)
