Looks like a part to an old rifle. But the fact that it's brass I don't think it is. Are you positive it is brass?

Humm...There's a small amount of iron in the center. A screw maybe? A magnet doesn't stick stick to it except the iron in the center.

Window latch? The flat part doesn't look like a trigger. Tony

Door thumb latch?

More SWAGs:

The thumb lever for a bicycle bell?
The thumb lever for an old brass door bell?

It also reminds me of a lever from an old hand held counter. Those mechanical counters were once very popular

I can almost visualise that, but yet?
I searched a small while for various ideas and while I doubt if it is a weapon trigger, toy or otherwise, it is a trigger of some sort.
It seems to be designed to flick one way, then probably sprung back rather than physically moved back. What comes to mind is a something like a Tally Counter, but haven't found any similar levers on searching.

I think clovis97 has good ideas, but the scale seems wrong.

Cheers, Mike

BTW, I don't think the part is brass. Brass plated steel, yes. Solid brass, no.

It may very well be a sash latch, but I feel it is a lever/valve for a powder flask.

Thank you all for the help! I think I have another piece to it. Looking for it at the moment.

Would this piece be part of the flask too? I found it in the same field as well.

That actually looks like a valve stem from a tractor tire.
