Can you post a picture of the back? And, can you read the backmark? A quick look at "Albert's" book came up with no match.

It is a British "Merchant Navy" Officer button. (Actual British Navy buttons have the British Crown atop the anchor.) Because yours is a domed 2-piece brass button, it can date anytime from approximately the 1830s into the 20th century. To narrow down that wide time-range, we'll need to see a closeup photo of its back, with a readable backmark.
