Found this a few days ago I’m not sure what to make of it. Not sure what the material is it doesn’t look like anything else I’ve found around there. Found on eastern shore of Maryland one of my hot spots I always check this exact spot out because I found a huge blade missing the tip about 2 years ago so I always look for the rest whenever I’m there. This was lying in the exact same spot.

It’s broken on the one side , when I saw it laying in the mud I got really excited thought it was an effigy or something similar but I’m not sure what to make of it. Anybody have any guesses
Here’s the blade I found that I hopefully will find the rest one day.

It's imported English flint, the kind they use for making gunflints. It is not uncommon to find pieces here in Maryland and on other shore points as it was brought over in large quantities over a long period of time.

You are exactly right!! Great call , don’t know why I didn’t think of that ... I think the odd shape threw me off
