I was doing some wet sifting in a creek this afternoon and came across this piece of shell (roughly dime sized)
. It was found in central Illinois in a small stream. It is remarkably symmetrical and certainly worked to some degree. It was found in an area that has produced some arrowheads in the past and I am pretty sure it is Native American in origin. Just curious to see if anyone had any ideas as to what exactly it's purpose or function may have been. Cheers.
