Hi all,
I picked up a first edition of C.M. Skinner's "Myths and Legends of Our Own Land" a while back from a book dealer(a treasure in itself in my opinion).
Anyway these books have a short section dedicated to Treasure myths and legends of America, and it's a pretty interesting read in general. This book is available in its entirety for all to peruse through project Gutenberg. http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/6615. The section about treasure legends is entitled "As to Buried Riches" and occurs near the end of the book.
Enjoy!
