Nada, nunca, nothin', bupkiss. WHOA! Wait a holdit!!

I went traipsin' off around the mansion today for about 3 hours. I finally gave up and came home. Figuring I had nothing to show for the day, (have I mentioned that the mansion is drying up? ;) ).

But, as I arranged my plethora of finds I noticed this one lump of metal.
Hmmm, not heavy as lead, a bit too hard too. Non-magnetic, nice color.
My initial testing said silver. But, I've been fooled before. So, off to my friend who knows jewelery.

Results? 27.22 grams of almost pure silver! A melted blob from something but far from the "nothing" I thought I had today!

Let the happy dance begin!!

HH! Everybody! Watch that junk!!! LOL

I guess I'm gonna have to start saving my blobs now. I could have thrown away 25 pounds of silver by now!!!:BangHead:

Exactly! I used to also. But, ever since I found a partially melted crucifix that still had part of the word sterling on it, I've been much more careful. If I find a blob, I still try to identify what metal.

About the lucky? I like to think more like watched over. :)

Thanks!

Well, if you threw one of them over here on the mansion grounds. I know where it is now! LOL

I am imagining it to be a Silver Dollar that somehow was burned in a very hot fire. Inside a pocket of an old military coat. Perhaps once worn by Robert E. Lee. Nice find WHADIFIND........GRiley

I LIKE it!! LOL

But, actually, it looks more like a figurine, or used to be. Maybe an early rendition of "Oscar"? Before they went with gold? LOL

I'm wondering now what that big circle of rusted iron used to be now. Maybe his stirrup? ;)

HH!

Wow........great story and a great lesson for me.........

Great find and info WHADIFIND!

Now we'll all be stockpiling our blobs:laughing9:
