Name that button?

This was found on the beach in Florida. I've never seen one like it before. Not sure what material it is but it's metal. Can anyone tell me anything about it?

Could be any age. Is it magnetic? If not, probably lead. Could be 17th through 19th century.

It's not magnetic. Hoping someone will recognize the odd button hole shape.
