This was found near the old mission in Tucson, Az. Can you tell me who these military men are, or the date? Is it Spanish? Theres no clues on the medalion and no printing, or should I clean it up more? You can see it sideways better because it is worn down so much. Can you help me? Thanx.

Perhaps a souvenir medalet or badge from the 1904 Louisiana Purchase Exposition (St. Louis World's Fair), bearing the images of Thomas Jefferson and Napoleon. Their portraits appear on numerous items from the expo.

Thankyou PBk! I will dig deeper! The images you sent looks just like them! My dad, who is 76, and me agreed that it looked like Thomas Jefferson. I thought the other side looked alot like Napoleon, but until now, I never knew they were associated. Thanks for the history lesson. I have looked up the expo recently but couldnt find any relics from the fair. Do you know a good site? I appreciate your excellent input. Thank you much. Beave.

Hey Beav! I found the same identical medallion here in clarkston,wa. at an old ca.1900 fair site! I decided it must be Napoleon and Jefferson too, commemorating the Louisiana purchase.
