Hi, I found the following stones below in a small creek near the Saratoga National battlefid in upstate NY. I'm new to artifact hunting so I was hoping someone could help me identify if these are natural formations or artifacts. In the picture is a one inch long .22 bullet for perspective. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Quito-Thanks for looking. I wasn't sure.

they dont look natural to me.... you may have something there were they found in the same spot ? is that spot known to produce artifacts ? natural

@Silversurfer1111 - They were all within a yard of each other in the stream. I walked the stream for a little while and there weren't any other rocks that came close to the color of these stones. They really stuck out. The area was definitely inhabited by Native Americans but its best known for revolutionary war artifacts. Of course native Americans fought on both sides during the battles nearby.

I can't say if they are artifacts or nature. However,I would not toss them until an experienced person in your area looked at them. Apparently holy stones are found in great numbers in certain states. I find a stone with a natural hole in it every once in a while. I can tell the holes in the couple of holy stones I have are natural because the holes are not close to perfectly round. Yours look pretty uniformed to me. I'm not familiar with your area, therefor, my word means nada! Just wanted to say good eye and don't toss until a reliable person has looked these over, in hand!

''Holey Moley'' I would concur with Quito, and say natural stones.

Ya, probably natural, but odd for sure. I agree with N.C., keep them and get them looked at. If they are stone, and found very close to each other, thats seems quite odd.
If they are shell, the predatory birds in your area have pecked them into something to make us wonder, nice finds either way...
I see a lot of "shell pendants" found here and shown to me that were the work of our local bird species.
Good luck.

Thanks. I will definitely have them looked at before they are added to my rock garden. I'll post the results as soon as I can.
