Pewter trade pipes were among the trade goods used in the 1600s and early 1700s. Early colonists used pewter widely for figurines, cups and flatware during that time. Pewter pipes were among the few metal items that the NAs were interested in until the mid 1709s when they started smithing their own silver ornaments out of silver coins and such.
