I haven’t had time to do any digging but i did stop in a yard sale and was digging through a junk box and spotted two navy buttons. I asked the lady how much and she said how about the two of them for a dollar. I said deal so off i went. One looks like a victorian royal navy button and the other looks to be from the US navy. Anyone with an info or age on the US button please let me know. I don’t know if they are worth much at all but for cool factor alone they must be worth $1 at least. Thanks for looking and i hope to get out digging again soon! [emoji2][emoji106]

I don't know about the anchor and crown button but your Eagle button dates after 1900 to about 1941. All Gaunt American backmarked buttons date after 1900. I am not sure when Gaunt quit making buttons but in 1941 the eagle was changed to face right instead of left as yours does. I'll double your money on it!:laughing7:

After a little research I think your Royal Navy button is post 1953. The crown is the determining factor according to this link.

Hey KIDDO1979. I still like those buttons. I just paid $25.00 for a marine corps blue dress jacket that has lots of buttons and is in like new condition. I thought it was a great deal till I saw them on ebay selling from $20.00 - $100.00 but I’m still happy with my purchase and will use it for a display.

Those are a couple of nice military buttons for a $1.00

Very nice job picking out treasures in the sale - congrats! :occasion14:
