Navy Button????

Found an old cemetery while out 4 wheeling this weekend. The "newest" stone in the cememtery was 1900. All the other stones were 1830's-1890's. Hunted the entrance and outside boundry with my bro-in-law and i came up with these 2 buttons. There were 2 stones from soldiers that had served in the Civil War. My bro-in-law found a Standing Liberty Quarter (no date), 1900 IH penny,and a 1924 Buffalo Nickel.

Looks British, however the Anchor was a popular civilian design as well!

Yea... it's either Amerian civilian or British Navy I think.

Yes, I concur with Crusader and Montana Jim, I believe it to be a civilian styled button.

I have found that navy buttons give me the biggest headache... I still always try to attribute them, but there are so many varieties...
